NLH’s strings take centre stage in Britten’s energetic Simple Symphony, while the winds create contrasting sound worlds in Anna Clyne’s Overflow and Ruth Gipps’ atmospheric Seascape. The whole orchestra then comes together for Mendelssohn’s dramatic and evocative Scottish Symphony.
